25 Before 25

25 Before 25

25 Before 25
Okay so 25 isn’t actually that far away. I turned 23 last month, so I only really have two years to do any of these things, and two years is not a long time. Nevertheless, I persist. There are 25 things, big and small, that I want to get on and do before I hit the big two-five.

That said, I’m not too caught up on achieving each and every one of these goals. They’re more like little nudges towards what I want to achieve in life. Just reminders to keep on the track that suits me best.

I’m also really into having a list of things that I can tick off one by one – I might come back here and stick a line through them when they’ve been completed, or I might write a post on my 25th birthday to look back and see what I’ve achieved.

Shall we begin?

25 BEFORE 25

1. SMASH MY MASTERS

Self explanatory. Gonna get myself a pretty sweet MA. Yeah gal, get those letters.

2. FINISH A GOD DAMN BOOK FOR ONCE

I never finish books. I’m a mess. A sorry excuse for an arts student. Legit though, I get bored of books so easily and so quickly that if it hasn’t grabbed me by at least a quarter of the way through, I’ll never ever find out how it ends, and not care about it. I’m so sorry.

3. ROLL OUT A BLOG NEWSLETTER?

It seems like that’s the next thing so maybe see how it goes? Probably monthly, not weekly. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

4. YOUTUBE??!?

It didn’t go too well last time I did the whole YT thing, but I think I could maybe give it a second go? This is very very up in the air so don’t quote me on this at all.

5. GET A TATTOO

Sorry, mum and dad. I want a tattoo. A tiny one, where no one will see it except maybe on the beach or something. I know exactly what I want, it’s just getting it done. Watch this space.

6. PUSH THROUGH BLOGGER’S BLOCK

Blogger’s Block is a nightmare – we all know that. I’m determined to push through each and every occasion and keep writing and creating content. No stupid blog breaks for me, my friends.

7. HEAD BACK IN THE DIRECTION OF A PLANT BASED DIET

No promises on going full on vegan again, but I’d like to go back to how I ate a few years ago. I felt better, looked better, and generally enjoyed living that vegetable life.

8. HOST A DINNER PARTY

… and not one where we all have to sit on the floor because my uni house doesn’t have any chairs. A real one, where we sit at a real table and eat my rubbish cooking and pretend we know things about stuff but really we’re just a little drunk. Lol my aspirations are so sitcom chic.

9. GO TO A SPIN CLASS

Just to know for sure that it definitely isn’t for me at all. But like, I have to try once, don’t I? Even if only to tell people that I’ve been spinning. They don’t need to know that I died after 3 minutes.

10. PERFECT MY BLOG PHOTOS

I’ve been saying that I’ll do this for years, but nothing is ever quite perfect enough. At the moment, I think I’ve come pretty close – especially with outfit shots. My product shots could do with a little extra work, however. I’m working on it, I promise.

11. GET A REAL ADULT JOB

I’m going to go and do what all of my friends did two years ago (lol) and stop trying to rinse the student lifestyle for all it’s worth and go out and contribute to society in a meaningful way or something. Who knows.

12. GO SOMEWHERE COOL

I think Ollie and I are planning on hitting Central America next year but we’ll see how it goes with the whole MA thing and money and stuff. If not, I’d love to just go somewhere a little nearer but just as beautiful and #aesthetic.

13. REALLY SMASH MY BLOG

I’m really enjoying blogging at the moment, and I really want to keep my enthusiasm going and my content great.

14. SAVE UP A LITTLE MONEY

Not, like, a huge amount. Realistically I’m going to be a student for half of the two years and then unemployed (probably) so there’s a limit to how much I’ll be able to save. I’ll give it my best shot though.

25 Before 25

15. DRINK MORE WATER

Enough said, really.

16. REACH AN EQUILIBRIUM WITH MY EATING

I am both a binger and a restricter and I’d like to just sort myself out and be happy. This is going to be a really tough one but I genuinely think I can do it. Wish me luck.

17. WORK WITH SOME (MORE) BADASS BRANDS

I work, and have worked, with some amazing brands since I started blogging way back then. Basically, I just want to keep this going. Onwards and upwards, y’know?

18. MINI BREAK IN ROME

I’m planning on writing my masters thesis on art’s effect on The Church, and vice versa. Naturally, a trip to Rome (and Florence???!) would be pretty useful so…. yeah that’s going to happen.

19. HIT THE BIG OLD INSTA 10K

So I was well on track to hit the 10k mark until insta changed their algorithm and screwed us all over. I’m on about 8k at the moment (a little under) and I know that the next 2k or so is going to be like pulling teeth. Wish me luck with this one, I’ll need it.

20. GET MY FRENCH BACK UP TO SCRATCH

I love being able to speak French, and I love telling everyone that I learnt to speak French from scratch while living in Paris even more. But, now it’s a year on, it’s a little less impressive because my vocab is slowly falling through the plughole of my brain. Time to get back on it and make it all brag worthy once more.

21. GO CLIMBING

I have this idea that I’d really enjoy climbing and I want to test this theory. Either I’ll be right and you’ll find me hanging upside-down from a cave wall, or I’ll be wrong and I’ll fall off the children’s wall and cry.

22. GIVE BLOOD

I love giving blood, and do whenever I can – between piercings, lol. Giving blood is, however, a massive hassle for me. I have tiny little veins which makes finding them a nightmare, I then have such low blood pressure that the machine is constantly freaking out and alerting the whole room that I’m dying. It normally takes 45 mins, and a nurse standing over me at all times, for me to give the minimum amount of blood. On the upside, I’m O- and so kind of a big deal in the blood world. Swings and life saving roundabouts.

23. VISIT 25 COUNTRIES

I’ve visited 19 countries, which doesn’t sound a lot but they were quite big countries like Russia and Kazakhstan and stuff. It’s also pretty good when you think that I’ve never been to Spain. Anyway, next on my list are Iceland, Ireland, Spain, Cuba, Nicaragua and Poland (to ‘find my roots’ or something). Reckon I can get that done in two years? No, me neither.

24. TAKE MY PARENTS FOR DINNER AND PAY

This one will probably happen to make up for the tattoo but it’s the thought that counts. I want to take my parents for a lovely dinner and pay for it and be a nice daughter because they’re great and I don’t tell them enough.

25. IGNORE ALL OF THESE THINGS AND JUST GO WITH THE FLOW

We don’t always have to have a plan for everything. Sometimes the way we think our life is going, or the way we want our life to go, isn’t what’s best for us. Sometimes you just have to let your life take you the way it’s taking you. I’m okay with that. x

  • Absolutely love all of these goals! I’m the WORST when it comes to completing books…it never happens. I’m such a perfectionist with my photos too…I’m trying to think of ways I can decrease the amount of time I spend editing them while still making sure they look nice. I know what you mean about being both a binger and restricter- my relationship with food has definitely struggled tremendously throughout my life. Finding that perfect balance takes a lot of time and self-forgiveness, but it’s so worth it!

  • I love all of your goals! I really need to drink more water too, I swear I make it a goal every few months and then never achieve it. Heh. x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

  • Find your roots in Poland – i’m intrigued as my Babcia is Polish as my grandparents took us there in 2015 to see some heritage! I lol’d at the spin class – I did my first ever one age 25 (i.e. a few weeks ago) and bloody hell it was hard! Good though, but damn sweaty and I did feel as if I was going to either keel over or throw up! Alice xxx

  • Love this list! I would definitely like to see a newsletter from you!

  • I love all of these goals! I know what you mean about getting an adult job, so nervous about leaving education behind. I would love to build relationships with brands too 🙂 xx
