A February To-Do

Can you believe that we’re already a month into 2018?! You probably can – that is, after all, how time works. Still, one whole month of 2018. And what a month it has been! I’ve written 20,000 words of essay (all in the first two weeks), consistently blogged and stuff, and generally lived the busy-gal lifestyle. I’ve also cut out a fair few animal products – not entirely, yet – but enough to keep me ticking over for now.

So yeah, a busy busy month.

For February, I think I’m going to chill out on the to-do list. I have a few things that need doing: I need to write another essay or two, sort out some stuff for Paris next month, and book a few train tickets, etc. Other than those things, however, I have a few other bits and pieces to tick off.

A February To-Do

01. Keep on cutting out those animal products. I tried, where possible, to cut out meat and dairy in January, and I’d love to work harder on that and cut them out entirely. I don’t need them, and I don’t want them, and I genuinely feel happier after a week animal product free.

02. Fresh flowers. I’m a sucker for fresh flowers. They brighten up any room and make you feel a little less lonely if you’re there by yourself. I swear by flowers as something ‘alive’ in the room with you. As spring is on the way, I’m going to take full advantage!

03. Read. Ollie convinced me to get into reading more at the end of 2017, and so far so good. My goal is a book a month, which for me is a lot. I’m not great at finding time to read. And hey, I’m already ahead of schedule: two books down in January! I just struggle finding books that I like enough to want to pick up and finish. I’m a fussy fussy reader.

04. Get scheduled up. I did a great job in January with keeping you up to date without compromising my uni work. The key is scheduling. I take a day out from studying and just write and write and plan and write and shoot and write, and then it’s done! The month done! Same again this month.

05. Get my nails done. This one is a bit boring, really. Normally I’ll get my nails done at the start of term, either a gel polish or a set of acrylics, and they’ll last me for a while. This term, however, was a little bit rushed at the start and I couldn’t justify taking an hour or so to look after my nails. The first thing I’m going to do in February is book an appointment for a not-so-busy week. x
