Four Perfect Cleansers

I’m a real sucker for skincare. They say that’s how it goes, don’t they? You start loving makeup and eventually you end up loving great skincare. That’s what’s happened to me, for sure. Minimal makeup (most of the time) and great, glowing, dewy skin. It’s such a treat. A Christmas miracle.

My skin has just been so en pointe lately. Blemish free with a fabulous glow, and honestly I can’t get enough. Sure its a little dull before I’ve had the chance to throw on some tinted moisturiser and a bit of highlighter, but we can’t have everything can we?

All in all, I put my new found skin happiness down to a little switch up in my routine every now and then. I try to alternate which cleanser I use each night, and use a separate one entirely in the shower. I react to my skins needs that day, and carry it forward into the next morning.

It seems like a lot, but it’s actually very chill. It’s easy as washing your face.

That said, I only ever alternate between four different cleansers. Four that I’m completely smitten with.

The Body Shop Drops of Light Brightening Cleansing Foam: This is my favourite in-shower cleanser. I use a tiny pee sized blob and massage it over my face and neck while waiting for my conditioner/purple shampoo to do its job. It’s a gorgeously simple little tube, both outside and in. Luxurious packaging and all the quality that you’d expect from The Body Shop. The brightening formula gives my skin a little zing post shower, and leaves it feeling squeaky clean. I might shake things up in a few weeks and use it as my evening cleanser… we’ll see.

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter: I picked this up in Canada over the summer, having forgotten to bring any cleanser out there with me. I know. I’m the worst. Still, I love an excuse for new skincare. I use this gorgeous cleansing butter on my heavier makeup days. Because of it’s oily nature, it’s great for lifting makeup right off the face and for giving the parched skin underneath the moisture it’s been craving. Great for getting off even the most stubborn waterproof eyeliner, great for the skin. I’m almost all the way through this tin, and will definitely be repurchasing.

Hello Body Coco Fresh Detox Face Foam: I was sent a few bits from Hello Body a while ago now for a piece on instagram, and have enjoyed using them ever since. The Coco Fresh Face Foam smells divine, like coconuts and a hint of coffee, and leaves my skin feeling soft and extremely clean. This is a perfect everyday cleanser, for those days when you just want to get your face cleansed and into bed. Honestly, I’m thrilled to have discovered this cleanser because it just gets the job done, and does it very very well.

Soap & Glory The Fab Pore Purifying Foam Cleanser: One for when my skin needs a little tough love. Soap & Glory have always been my favourite affordable skincare brand, and last year at uni I managed to make my way through an entire bottle of their Peaches & Clean Cleansing Milk. This year I wanted something different, and this cleanser really spoke to me. Their Fab Pore range is honestly so great and this is no exception. Clean and clear skin, used maybe three times a week. Easy peasy.

  • I’ve found in the past foam cleansers don’t work great for me, but the body shop cleanser sounds so good! I’m definitely more into my skincare now, it’s kind of annoying as I have stacks of makeup and I barely use it. The Body Shop also do a camomile cleansing oil that’s so good for heavy makeup days x

I normally choose an exfoliating cleanser because I like to feel like my face is getting a good scrub, but I’ve recently been leaning towards cream cleansers instead!
I’m not completely sold on foam, but the Body Shop Ray of Light sounds like it would be right up my street. Thank you for the recommendations!

  • Heard so many great things about The Body Shop cleansing butter, might have to try it! xx

  • I’ve never used these ones, the body shop one sounds so good. I actually got a body shop gel cleanser and I wanted to try more others from there, so will be giving this a go.

  • All of these cleansers sound great! I’m just starting to get in to using different cleansers at the moment and the newest addition to my collection is the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, which I’m currently loving. The Body Shop Cleansing Butter you have mentioned sounds awesome for heavier makeup days xo
